CSSC SETH has partnered with Seapex to deliver DC power distribution systems for two highly efficient, fully-electric light cargo transshipment vessels – the Hydromover 2.0 – commissioned by Singapore-based ship owner Yinson GreenTech (YGT). This collaboration represents a significant milestone in CSSC SETH's expansion into the international maritime market. Notably, this project marks CSSC SETH's first involvement in an overseas fully electric-powered container vessel, underscoring the company's technological prowess in new energy power systems. The successful deployment of its solutions in this venture signifies CSSC SETH's official entry into the global fully electric ship market, reinforcing its position as an innovator in sustainable marine propulsion.
The Hydromover 2.0 features two lithium battery banks, each with a capacity of 457.268kWh, resulting in a total vessel energy storage capacity of 914.536kWh. CSSC SETH supplies the advanced DC power distribution system for this vessel, delivering stable and reliable power management performance. The vessel has received classification certification from Bureau Veritas (BV).
It is reported that the Hydromover, the precursor to Hydromover 2.0, is the first project to undergo commercial testing, positioning it as a frontrunner in both innovation and commercialization. The development of Hydromover 2.0 marks a significant milestone in YGT's fleet electrification initiative. As a key partner, CSSC SETH is committed to supporting YGT’s pioneering efforts in the global race toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
